ADVANCE COMMITMENT NIGHT (Outdoor Gathering)
Sunday, October 15 | 5:30P | Onsite at our Building!

Join us for our first chance to be ONSITE at Ekklesia’s permanent home for a special prayer walk and worship gathering. This event is open to everyone no matter where they are in their readiness to make a commitment to the BY FAITH initiative — We want everyone to rally together and participate in a powerful time of worship, prayer, and testimonies. For those who are ready to commit, this will be an exciting opportunity to submit a commitment card. We’ll also celebrate at the end of the night with dessert, refreshments, and activities for the whole family!

Limited childcare will be available for Nursery through 5th Grade; Please check your child in at Eugene Christian School prior to gathering.

Parking will be available at our building located on 2897 Chad Drive, as well as across the street at Eugene Christian School (2895 Chad Drive).

COMMITMENT SUNDAY

Commitment Sunday, October 29, is a day set apart for us to take the next step toward God’s vision for Ekklesia together. At the end of both the 8:30A and 10:30A gatherings, we will take time to fill out a commitment card privately indicating what we’ve decided to give for the next two years during the BY FAITH giving initiative.

REVEAL SUNDAY / 1ST BIG GIVE
Sunday, November 12

On Sunday, November 12, we’ll announce the total amount committed to the BY FAITH initiative. The fulfillment period of your commitment will begin with our First Big Give on this day. It’ll be a big day to celebrate!

FAQs

  • First and foremost, we ask that you pray and seek God’s leading on what He is asking of you. Prepare your heart to hear Him and listen to what He says. Engage in a community group during this season if you haven’t already joined one.

    Secondly, we are asking that you make a commitment to BY FAITH generosity – whatever it is that God leads you to do.

    Finally, prepare to be amazed. We serve an awesome God, and we anticipate He will move in huge ways from our collective BY FAITH commitments. Please mark your calendars for October 29, Commitment Sunday. Be prepared for a defining moment for our church and your faith.

  • During the two-year period, every contribution from those participating in BY FAITH will go toward the initiative. The BY FAITH fund will support our ongoing Ekklesia ministries and facility development.

  • We are asking that everyone make a two-year commitment. The fulfillment period of your commitment will begin with our First Big Give on Sunday, November 12.

  • BY FAITH was crafted specifically with you in mind. BY FAITH is a “one fund” generosity initiative, which is different from a traditional capital campaign in which you give an extra gift above and beyond your regular giving - thus creating two steps for people who aren’t yet giving. BY FAITH is a call to surrendered, gospel-driven generosity for absolutely everyone at Ekklesia. If you have never given before, this is your invitation to begin and see what God does in and through you.

  • BY FAITH is about the vision for our church and our personal discipleship in generosity as followers of Jesus. We believe that the local church is one of the most compelling missions to give towards, and we would love for you to make Ekklesia your home and join us in BY FAITH. There is no better time to make a Holy Spirit driven commitment.

  • YES! Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give towards BY FAITH. You might have some stocks, property, or other stored resources that God has blessed you with in the past, that He might be calling you to give out of during this time. Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help you with that.   • By Faith is about your total, prioritized, gospel-driven generosity to God’s mission at Ekklesia Eugene. We believe that God calls us to action in times of hardship just as much as He does in times of abundance, which looks different for every person. BY FAITH is about a heart surrender and trusting the promptings of the Holy Spirit in your life – something that is only accomplished by seeking the Lord and responding to His call and His Word. So that may mean that you are challenged to sell things, pick up odd jobs, or even to trust God in faith by making a commitment that you don’t quite know how to fulfill right now but that you believe God will provide for as you seek for ways to sacrifice and work towards that commitment. We would love for 100% of us to be a part of BY FAITH so that we can all support, love, encourage, and pray for one another through this spiritually stretching season at Ekklesia Eugene.

  • If you are someone currently seeking to make payments to pay off debt right now, we commend you for making progress on that. And you should continue to do so. We would be happy to help you in this journey and recommend a budgeting class that might minister to you. Being in debt does not excuse someone from giving. Giving isn’t about what God wants from you; it’s about what God wants for you. So, it should be our joy and privilege to give at all times, regardless of the amount or percentage.

  • The New Testament gives examples of generosity from people who are not considered wealthy compared to others.

    Jesus teaches His disciples about generosity by showing them a widow who gives two coins (Luke 21:1-4). Paul teaches the Corinthians about generosity through the example of the poor and persecuted Macedonian church (2 Cor. 8:1-5). Therefore, consider this: if you participate in BY FAITH according to whatever means God has given you, it could be the thing He uses to spark generosity in others!
